Competition details:

Each CA schedules qualifying games, these will be called the Mecano Cup Qualifiers. Each CA will end up with 2 teams left standing. The two teams from each CA will go into the Mecano Cup Final Series, the winner of each CA will go into 'pot 1' and the 2nd team will go into 'pot 2', thus ensuring that each centre gets a Home Game.

  • Then the winners go into a semi final pot and first team drawn is the Home team, 2nd Away team and so on. That is where the game is played (unless a CA doesn't want that
game played there) i.e. Bundaberg Team gets Home game hence game played at Bundaberg Marten's Oval.
  • The Finals will play Home and Away i.e. the two teams will be placed into a pot; the first drawn out is the Home Team, 2nd draw is Away Team. The first game will be played there,
the second game will then be played at the other CA. In the event of a Draw normal rules will apply i.e. extra time, penalty shootouts. This will then decide the winner.
  • Prize Money is 1st $2,500 runner up $1,000. Paid to Club.
  • These are CA played games i.e. games are played at CA not Club facilities unless CA advises differently.
  • The drawing of names will be conducted by an independent person that is not associated with Football (Department of Sport & Rec Manager) and will be conducted in Bundaberg with 3 other observers, 1 being Chair of Senior Men‚Äôs Committee for Zone (Greg Bath), 1 being a Media representative (News Mail Journalist) and the other being Senior Government Person (Jack Dempsey) or their Staffer (Vince Habberman).
  • Finals 10th July 2010
  • Semi Finals 17th July 2010
  • 1st Finals 31st July 2010
  • 2nd Final 7th August 2010
  • It is to be understood by Teams that this is a FWB Initiative to promote Grass Root Senior Competition within the Zone.
