U16/17 Youth Academy

In 2010, Football Wide Bay is including an Under 16/17 program for boys that will bridge their pathway into the Queensland State League.

This program will be known as the Wide Bay Youth Academy. The Youth Academy team will be a squad of up to 20 players who will play in invitational matches against current Under 19 State League teams for match experience and exposure to State League Coaches.

The purpose of this Academy team is to continue to develop the game of young men who are interested in a professional career or who have what it takes in terms of skill, commitment and passion to play football at very high levels.

These players will train under high level coaching staff and play away on 6 weekends of the season in organised matches against teams such as the CQ Cougars, Toowoomba Raiders, Sunshine Coast Fire, Bundaberg Spirit and the Queensland Academy of Sport.
