Referee ProfileSARA HODSON (Bundaberg) Sara started playing football at the age of 5 and played in Moura until she was 16. She then played for Bluebirds in Rockhampton for 2 years, before moving to Brisbane for university where she played for The Gap. Sara began her career in refereeing in 1999 and attended her first state titles that year. She attended three national titles and the national secondary school championships in Australia and New Zealand before receiving a national officiating scholarship in 2007 which allowed her to referee on a tour of China. In 2008, Sara received her FIFA badge (international accreditation) and has refereed friendlies between Australia and New Zealand Canada and Italy. She has also officiated at the AFC U16 girls qualifiers in Malaysia. In 2009, Sara was appointed to elite panel for AFC - going to Thailand in November for AFC U16 finals. Sara began refereeing in the W-League in 2008 and continues to do that to this day. Football Wide Bay congratulates Sara Hodson on her achievements in refereeing; she is an inspiration to other young aspiring referees.
