Zone Council

Football Wide Bay is administered by the Zone Council as per the constitutional requirements of FFA and FQ.

The Zone Council is made up of four Executive members and three standing committee Chairs.

The Executive members of Council are:

President Mrs Kim Mitchell (Gayndah) ph: 0457 833 426
Vice President Mr Andrew Catton (Hervey Bay)
Acting Secretary Mrs Julie Calvert (Gympie) ph: 075481 17 88
Treasurer Mr David Ethell (Maryborough)

The Chairs of the Standing Committees are:

Chair of the Men's Standing Committee Mr Rob Asnicar (Bundaberg)
Chair of the Junior's Standing Committee Mr Trevor Kirk (Gympie)

Chair of the Women’s Standing Committee Mr Darren De Florian (Bundaberg)

 

Chair of the Referee's Standing Committee Mr Les Broadbent (Hervey Bay)

In addition to the Zone council, the Zone administration includes two other very important roles:

Regional Development Officer (RDO) Mr Greg Caulley
Administration Officer Mrs Julie Calvert (Gympie) ph: 0754811788

The Zone Council along with representatives of the Competition Administrators (CAs), which are Gympie, Maryborough, Hervey Bay, Bundaberg and North Burnett, meet regularly to discuss matters affecting all aspects of Football in the Zone. These matters include but are not limited to:

  • Governance of Constitutional matters
  • Governance of Financial matters
  • Governance of Administration matters
  • Governance of Legal matters
  • Coordination of Judicial Appeals as required
  • Operational matters
  • Risk Management matters
  • Sponsorship, grants funding, advertising and fundraising at Zone level
  • Wide Bay representative competitions such as the Wide Bay Championships and Wide Bay Champions League
  • Elite player development such as Development Squads and Centre of Excellence Programs
  • Representation of Referee's interest, growth, development and support
  • Liaison with the RDO to ensure growth, development and support of grassroots football for both players and coaches
  • Communication pathway between clubs, CAs and Football Queensland
